Hey everyone, so here is a project I did before I had this blog up and running. The 'Ubud dreams' collection is just gorgeous, it was my favourite paper collection to date until 'Indigo skies' came along... Kaisercraft just keeps outdoing themselves!


I actually submitted this photo layout to Kaisercraft's January blog challenge (and won!) My photo taking skills have improved since then so I decided to share some of the details of the project. It was a bingo challenge and I picked the line 'stitching, confetti pocket, printed papers only, typed journaling'.


I thought it would be fun to make the doors 'open' on the layout to reveal a message. I used two 3 x 2 inch pieces of plastic and stuck one edge to the outer edge of the pocket rectangle, and the inner edges to the door. I added some rose gold brads for the door knobs. I also used a few different mist colours on the edges of the layout to help tie the page together. Using some brown thread I did some stitching to make the heart (I realise the edges are not perfect... so to fix this I will use a stencil next time!)


I love making shaker cards (I am yet to share one on this blog) so I knew I needed to select the 'confetti pocket' on the bingo card! For the confetti pocket I used some round blue sequins and heart shaped rose gold sequins. I wanted it to match the rose gold brads and heart stitching I did. To add a bit more interest I used a photo overlay saying 'memories' in the confetti pocket. To seal the pocket I used sewed the edge using some white thread, it would have been neater to use a fuse tool to seal the pocket.

This was my very first attempt at a photo layout so I am quite happy with how it turned out. I think this collection is perfect to document travel adventures. I will definitely be making more of these in the future. I'm studying for my university exams right now, so I thought this would be a good time to share some past projects. Hope this inspires you to create some photo layouts of your own, they are definitely a great addition to any scrapbook!

'Anniversary flowers' - card

I thought I’d share a card that is quite simplistic and elegant. I think it’s perfect for an anniversary or wedding card. *** For this card, I used a white 5 1/4 inch square notecard for the base of the card. I cut a 5 1/8 inch square piece from some plain white cardstock to form the panel of the card. To give this card a bit of dimension, I decided that I should add a thin piece of foam to the back of the panel. I cut a foam piece down to a 5 inch square and adhered it to the back of the panel. 'To know you is to love you' - card

#NativeBreeze #FauxStitching #AustralianFlora Hi all, here's my first papercraft post for 2020. Yes, it's already pretty much 1/4 of the way through the year, but better late than never! So on a recent trip to Kaisercraft, I saw the 'Native Breeze' collection and thought I just had to have it; it's gorgeous! It really showcases the beauty of Australian flora! I only used one patterned paper sheet of the project, but I definitely will be scrapbooking with this paper (hopefully soon)! *** First I cut out an 8 1/4 x 5 7/8 inch piece of black cardstock, scored along the middle at 4 1/8 inches and folded it in half to create a notecard that is 5 7/8 x 4 1/8 inches.
